I want to begin by
thanking everyone for a
great turnout for our
busiest month of the
year.  We had great
turnouts over the July
4th holiday weekend.
Your continued support
for this organization
amazes me.  On the
4th, we had a total of 2
empty seats on our 56-
passenger bus.  It was
truly a great weekend.
Towards the end of the
month, our attendance
declined which is to be
expected because of
vacations and other
things.  I believe that
our lowest turnout was
in Thurmont where we
still had 30 in the ranks,
which is great.  As time
continues to move
towards fall, we still
have some late
summer jobs on the
horizon.
The month of August
holds 3 gigs and the
first is the Mt. Airy
concert on the 10th
This concert begins at
6:15 p.m. and is held in
the pavilion along Main
St.  From Westminster,
take Route 27 south
towards Mt. Airy and
turn right at Twin Arch

Road.  The park will be
about 1/2 mile on your
left.  The Hampstead
Fireman’s parade will
follow on Saturday the
16th.  This parade has
a weird start time of
5:00 p.m.  The parade
will start from the old
road behind Snyder’s
Auction.  The month
will wrap up with our
annual Belle Grove
concert on Sunday the
24th starting at 6:00
p.m.  This park is
located at the corner of
Bond Street and Green
Street.

Earlier, we had talked
about maybe attending
a parade in Dover,
Delaware on
September 13th.
Unfortunately, we will
NOT be going.  The
Five Points Fire
Company elected to go
with a more local band,
I guess to save on the
funds.  In talking with
the Five Points contact,
he explained that they
would try this band and
would keep us in mind
for next year.  So, we
did extract that one
from our schedule.
The photo that was taken
during Memorial Day has
been returned to the
photographer for a closer
look.  We noticed that
there was several glare
spots in some aspects of
the photo.  He explained
that he would work on
getting it perfected.  We
should have something
for you to look at in the
fall.

Again I want to thank you
all for your participation
this past busy month.
We had 9 engagements
for the month with great
turnouts.  Fantastic.
I will see you in August.
